Portland/Vancouver Monthly Marketing Update- February 2025
Thank you to everyone who joined our Release Party last week. We were worried that the space would not hold the 350+ RSVPS we received, but the flow of the evening seemed to work great. I wish I would have been able to have more individual connections throughout the busy night. Please share and tag your photos on our social media pages. At the event, I announced that we would have a rate increase this year due to paper costs and other distribution expenses (this is only our 2nd rate increase in 15+ years). For those that take advantage of "Early Bird" reservations this month- we will honor the current pricing for 2026, in addition to the 10% discount off the current rates as a thank you. We were excited that so many existing sponsors, as well as new sponsors already renewed for next year. Reminder- you will be invoiced in the fall or in 2026 per your preference and your ad copy is not due until November. This is just a way to save money by planning early and including us in your budget.
Tomorrow is our bi-monthly "Transitions of Care" Zoom call,
and this month we will focus on the needs of providers to facilitate smoother transitions to/from the hospital. Please email me any agenda items. We typically have about 100 people join in for the short 30-minute Zoom call. Our Adventist Resource Fair for case Managers next month is full, but there are a few limited spaces remaining for the Peace Health event in April. Those links are below.

"It doesn't happen all at once, " said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get
loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." ~ Velveteen Rabbit
This is one of my favorite quotes of all time and was one of the readings at my wedding. I love the idea that to be "real" it takes much time and you have been worn out. The word "real" can mean so many different things when you take it out of the context of stuffed animals and into our daily lives. Sometimes real can also be messy, but the authenticity is worth it.
