Monthly Marketing Update- November 2022

We are in the final DAYS of prep for the next Retirement Connection Guide for Portland/Vancouver. We are in the midst of calling each housing and home care agency to confirm their listing details and add new providers. The guide takes us about 40 days to prep, layout, proof, print, and bind before hitting the streets on the first of the year. It sounds crazy that the first of the year is just around the corner. It is not too late to ensure Retirement Connection & CareAvailability are included in your 2023 marketing plans. Please let me know if you need a rate sheet, would like to schedule a zoom meeting or meet in person. Every year, someone lets us know they want to be included just after we send the guide to the printer. If you know of any new providers or organizations please help me with any introductions, if nothing else, we could be a resource for networking and increased connection.

This year we will NOT host a Release Party. Instead, we will support our sponsors with a private Kentucky Derby / Wine Tasting event at Four Graces. We felt the party became too large to give our sponsors (aka Advertisers) the gratitude and attention they deserve for making all of our work possible.

Case Management week last month was a huge success and together with other community partners, we were able to support more than 1000 case managers at 47 hospitals. Every hospital is running low on staff, but high on census and patient capacity; so the gifts were warmly received and very appreciated. Additionally, our team will be at the Oregon Case Management Conference this weekend near Mt Hood, to further those connections and hopefully schedule more in-person resource fairs again. We are currently working with Peace Health to plan for the first week in January. Hopefully, others will follow.

Nugget Of Knowledge
"Calm seas never made a good sailor." — Franklin D. Roosevelt

Calm seas don’t test a sailor's skills, knowledge, or perseverance. The same is true in our personal and professional lives. We learn more in rough waters because we are forced to make crucial decisions- without the luxury of added time or resources. We must rely on the knowledge available, and our ability to find that extra bit of energy and grit. For me, the past months have included: sending my oldest to college, my husband’s cancer, and a business pivoting post covid. After the storm, you know where you fell short, where you succeeded, and what you learned. I am still learning!
