Monthly Marketing Update- August 2026
Culture is a choice you make every day, whether it's around a family beach house or in a growing company. That's been on my mind since my family trip last month, and it's on my mind again now as our team changes and grows. We recently added a new web developer to our team. Change brings new opportunities, and we're excited about where this growth is taking us.
Speaking of growth, it's that time of year to start pulling together 2027 marketing budgets. We'd love for Retirement Connection and CareAvailability.com to stay part of the plan.
On that note, our CareAvailability.com search results page just got an upgrade. It's a two-column layout now, provider listings on the left, map, filters, and related articles on the right. Cleaner, easier to navigate, more room for each provider to stand out. We've also added an overview of Google reviews for any provider who has claimed their listing. Worth a look.
I'm also speaking at the Senior Care Coalition this month on Ethical Marketing. It's a topic I hold close, and it's one of the pillars we try to build our own culture around here.

The updated CareAvailability.com search results page is now live, and it is worth a look.
We moved to a two-column layout, with provider listings on the left and the map, filters, and related articles on the right. The result is a cleaner page that is easier to navigate, with more visual space for each provider.
A few things to notice:
A) Sort options are more prominent. You can now quickly sort by featured providers, current availability, distance, or name right at the top of the results.
B) Availability is simplified. Instead of a detailed breakdown in the listing, you now see a clear indicator of whether a provider has availability. Click it and you get the full picture, current and future, across all services.
C) Google ratings are now visible. For all claimed providers, you will see the Google star rating and total review count directly in the search results.
D) The map opens larger. The interactive map now opens in its own window for easier viewing.
If you have not searched the site recently, this is a good time to try it. And if you are a listed provider who has not claimed your profile yet, now is a great time to do that too.

Last month I had a big family vacation- one week, Twenty-plus cousins, lots of feelings (good & bad)! The conflicts that showed up weren't surprising. What struck me was how familiar it felt. The same dynamics that stall communication at work showed up at the beach house. Unspoken things. Moments that passed when they didn't have to. The reminder I brought home: good culture doesn't maintain itself. Culture is a daily choice. So is family, honestly.
