Southern Oregon
Monthly Marketing Update- February 2026

Happy February! I feel like I blinked and January was gone. Our SONAR meeting on the 4th Thursday continues to grow. (About 50 peeps attended last month). Join us and invite your referral sources to attend as well. The meeting is a great way to grow your relationships with other providers.

We are already working on the next edition of the Retirement Connection Guide for Southern Oregon, which will go to the printer in April. If you know anyone who would like to be included, please help us with an introduction. Retirement Connection is the only comprehensive resource guide, and it is used by hospitals, physicians, the Alzheimer’s Association, Area Agencies on Aging, DHS offices, and numerous other referral sources. Since we only print once a year, don’t miss out.

Last week, we hosted our Release Party for the Portland/Vancouver area, and I wanted to share some great feedback... "I use the guide every day to look up phone numbers and addresses for those I refer to." "I advertise because our community needs this resource, and it helps me do my job and help others." If you feel the same way, please help the guide continue to grow by advertising, sharing the guide with others, posting your events, or attending our networking events.

Speaking of events - save 2 important dates (details below under Marketing Events):
Our bi-monthly "Transitions of Care" Zoom call is scheduled for tomorrow, and we will focus on the needs of providers to facilitate smoother transitions to/from the hospital and share any success stories. Please email me any agenda items. We typically have about 100 people join in for the short 30-minute Zoom call. Last month, I hosted a webinar about "How AI has changed online searching for families" and shared some tips to improve your digital performance. We received high reviews for the content, and several providers have asked us to provide additional ongoing content. We will host another Zoom on March 3rd with additional related content.

Nugget Of Knowledge
"Gossip is the Devil's telephone, best just to hang up." ~ Catherine O'Hara

Catherine O'Hara nails it, but here's what often gets missed: gossip needs an audience. We focus on the person talking, but what about the listener? The one just nodding along, telling themselves they're not participating? That silence isn't neutral-  it's permission. I've been that person. Not contributing, but not leaving either. That's the trap. The bare minimum? Remove yourself. Walk away. Better yet... Speak up first, then leave. "I'm not comfortable with this conversation." Then go. It's uncomfortable. But gossip stops the moment someone refuses to play their part.
